Welcome to Medley, an online wellbeing initiative which began in 2020.
I run regular art for wellbeing challenges, with people taking part from home in their own time. I produce themed Creative Ideas, used mostly by care homes. I offer training in art for wellbeing, for wellbeing practitioners, counsellors, artists and anyone hoping to share art for wellbeing with others. And I have just started The Make To Give Challenge, a movement to get more people creating art and craft to share in the community.
I also lead a weekly art and craft group for an NHS Care Foundation Trust, and am happy to run one-off, bespoke workshops.
I am a life coach, too, encouraging women to explore how to live fuller and happier lives.

I was awarded funds from Arts Council England’s Developing Your Creative Practice Fund to develop my art for mental health work, through a project I titled Paint Your Mind: Art As Tool. This ran from January to June 2024 as I researched, shared ideas, ran two art challenges and learned a lot. To learn more about Arts Council England go to https://www.artscouncil.org.uk

Good news!

Medley won The Big Draw Festival’s Guest Panellists Award in 2023. I’ve run several art for wellbeing projects now as part of The Big Draw Festivals, such as my Birds A-Z Art for Wellbeing Challenge, and the Award recognized Medley for encouraging participants to experiment and build confidence and for boosting mental wellbeing. Thank you so much to The Big Draw and to everyone who supports what I’m trying to do.

Medley looks at nature, music and art’s role in everyday life and also specifically at their impacts on people facing a range of particular issues. These might be stroke, dementia, caring responsibilities, sight loss, autism, mental health issues, anxiety, depression, disability, hearing loss or chronic illness.
Art is integral to Medley, but so too are nature and music. This intersectional approach combines all three to boost wellbeing in as many different ways as possible.
Why Medley? The name highlights the many different ways music, art and nature impact on us and the diverse experiences we all have.
It would be great if you would like to be part of what Medley is trying to do, lifting spirits through creativity. Look at the News, Projects, MTG and Paint Your Mind pages to learn more.
